The Confession of a Demoniac After the Canonization of St. Porphyrios

By Fr. Ignatios Kazakos

Two years ago, after the canonization and listing among the saints of Saint Porphyrios of Kavsokalyva, a Divine Liturgy took place at Awful Golgotha, at the Most Sacred Church of the Resurrection in Jerusalem.

Pilgrims from Greece were present. In the group was a demon possessed woman from Attica, but she stood quietly, praying.

At the point of "Your own of Your own" a crisis took hold of her! She began to foam at the mouth! Screaming! At the "Especially the Panagia Immaculate" she cried out and laughed in an evil manner. She said: "Oh fools, look at them, all of them! As if the short one wasn't enough, Nektarios Kefalas from Aegina. Now they added this Porphyrios from Omonia, from the Polyclinic of Athens, to also burn us now! Oh woe is me! Oh...Oh...!

(This took place here in Jerusalem, a week after the canonization of Saint Porphyrios the New.)
